CALL FOR PAPERS

CALL FOR REGULAR PAPERS

European Conference on Mobile Robots

We are excited to invite submissions to the 13th European Conference on Mobile Robots (ECMR 2027). Following a successful journey from Radziejowice to Ancona, Freiburg, Mlini/Dubrovnik, Örebro, Barcelona, Lincoln, Paris, Prague, Bonn, Coimbra, and Padua, the next edition will be held in Thessaloniki. This edition will focus on autonomy and embodied intelligence across robot configurations and scales – in the air, on land, and at sea, from insect-scale robots to heavy-duty machines.

We welcome contributions across all areas of mobile robotics, particularly those that push the boundaries of autonomous systems and embodied AI. The conference will follow a single-track format, ensuring visibility for all accepted papers, with a peer review process that emphasizes novelty, technical quality, significance, potential impact, and clarity. The program will include invited talks as well as oral and poster presentations of accepted papers. The three-day main conference will be preceded by a day of workshops and tutorials.

Topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Mobile Robot Design
Wheeled and Legged Systems, Biomimetic Robotics, UAVs, USVs, UUVs, Mobile Manipulators, Sensors, Actuators, Reconfigurable Robots, and Body-Brain Co-Design
  • Perception and Cognition
Environment Perception, Semantic and Open-Vocabulary Mapping, Multimodal Sensor Fusion, Cognitive Architectures, Active and Interactive Perception, Scene Understanding, and Memory-based Approaches
  • Learning

  • Autonomy Architectures
Integrated Autonomy Architectures and Stacks, Embodied Reasoning, Onboard and Resource-efficient AI, Safety and Runtime Monitoring, and Field Validation
  • Distributed Systems
Multi-Robot Systems, Heterogeneous Robot Teams, Networked Robots, Swarms, Collaborative Perception and Mapping, Coordination, and Task and Resource Allocation
  • Applications
Cognitive Service Robots, Social Robotics, Industrial and Field Robots, Healthcare Robotics, Environmental Monitoring, Logistics, Search and Rescue, and Intelligent Surveillance

Accepted Papers

It is planned that accepted papers, whether presented orally or as posters, will be included in IEEE Xplore. A special issue of the Robotics and Autonomous Systems journal will be organized, where selected papers from ECMR 2027 will be invited for submission after the conference.

Paper and Video Format

It is planned that all accepted papers will be included in IEEE Xplore. Papers should follow the A4, two-column IEEE format. They can have six pages including references, with the option to add up to two additional pages at an extra cost.

A 1-minute video (up to 10 MB) can be submitted along with the paper to supplement it. Videos are not mandatory but provide a valuable opportunity to showcase results.

Please submit all papers, video attachments, workshop, and tutorial proposals through CMT. [https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/ECMR2027.]

We look forward to your contributions and to welcoming you to Thessaloniki for ECMR 2027, as we collectively explore the future of mobile robotics and embodied intelligence.
